Drummoyne Regatta

Published Sun 04 Mar 2018

Our next event is the Grade Regatta on Sunday 18th March, with the Drummoyne Masters shortly after on Sunday 22nd April.

To make these regattas happen we need your support and assistance. There are plenty of things to do on the day, as well as in the days leading up to each regatta.

Please make an effort to support the club, and let us know how you can get involved. As well as racing on the day we need volunteers to assist with the following:

- Lay the course buoys from 6:30AM (for about 1 hour)

- Prepare snacks and lunch for BRO's (can be done a day ahead)

- Tinnie drivers

- Pontoon marshall at Drummoyne RC and Leichhardt RC

- Medal Presentations

- Finish timekeeping and results

- Admin - substitutions & withdrawls

- Coffee & cake/ BBQ sales

- Retrieve course buoys at 2PM (for about 1 hour)

First race is generally at 8am. Lunch break around 11am with the last race approximately 2pm.

Consider job sharing if you can't commit to a full day. No previous experience necessary, although some roles require a boat licence.

Please email contact@drummoynerowers.com.au and/or Rick Gates on rick@rickgatesphoto.com.au and let us know how you can help. While we always rely on Rick to do a lot of the regatta work which he does brilliantly, please remember his current broken arm which means we need more people to step up and help in areas we generally take for granted.
